個人的な＜Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers ライヴ体験＞記録です。
Live Experience
きっかけ
TP&HB のファンとなって音源を聴き・映像を見るほどに、彼らのコンサートを観てみたいという想いが募る一方となり、ある日偶然目にしたインターネットの情報から幸運にもその想いはかないました。知らないというのは恐ろしいもので（笑）、無謀にも一人でライヴを観に出掛けました。1997年1月31日のことでした。
初体験
海外でライヴを観るのも、スタンディングの会場に行くのも、全て初めのこと。勝手もわからぬまま、人で溢れるフロアの真ん中にポツンと一人で膝を抱えて座って長時間待ちました。そして彼らが登場した瞬間、興奮は最高潮に。彼らが揃った姿を目の当たりにして本当に嬉しくて嬉しくて。ライヴ中は半分集中・半分恍惚の状態で過ごし、終わった時にはものすごい充足感がありました。
罹 病
一度知ってしまったライヴの魅力を忘れることができず、ツアーと聞くと出掛けずにはいられません。これを「遠征病」と言います。自由な身ゆえ、生活の一部は「TP&HB 中心に回っている」と言えるのかもしれません。
通算回数
1997年から 2017年まで、通算32回になりました。
最接近
1997年の Fillmore では連日前から5列目くらいで TP と見つめあっていました（と信じている）。1999年の Fillmore はさらに接近してフロント・ロウ。これはもう最高でした。その時は訳あって Mike のキーホルダーを預かっていて、それを Mike に受けとってもらおうと必死でした。そして、ライヴ本編の最後に Mike はしっかりキーホルダーを私の手から受けとっていきました。エキサイティングな瞬間でした。Fillmore 以外でも、2001年の The Joint や 2003年の Fonda Thearter では前から2列目くらいのポジションをGETし、再び間近に彼らを観ることができたました。
一方、GA（スタンディング）以外でも、2003年が左サイドの1列目（araさん、ありがとう！）、2005年が中央右寄り（TP目の前）の3列目、2006年 Hollywood Bowl は右サイド4列目（これはシビレた！）というポジションでライヴを堪能。HCCの恩恵もあって、2010年、2014年、2017年はフロント・ロウを含む素晴らしい座席でライヴを観ることができました。幸せすぎる体験でした。幸運に感謝しています。
